Randall and Simmonds work
with our Clients and the Design team
on both Private and Social housing schemes
to produce good quality housing which complies with all aspects of the current
Building Regulations and the following broad design philosophy:
-
Create a safe, secure,
living environment, which is sustainable, attractive and convenient, that
meets housing needs and acts as a catalyst for community generation.

-
Create schemes whose
design and layout gives a strong sense of place and sense of ownership, in
visual, emotional and functional terms through the integration of the
building form, the external spaces, the roads and the landscape and by
providing a clear distinction between public, community and private spaces.
-
Create good quality
homes in surroundings, which can be enjoyed by residents. The quality of
life of residents is influenced by both the home and the surrounding
environment and this should be reflected in the designs. The demographic
profile of the proposed development should be considered to establish the
use and design of the external environment. The external environment should
provide the visual and functional settings for homes; meet the community's
recreational needs; create opportunities for community integration; provide
children's informal play requirements and in its entirety enhance the
quality of life for residents.
Among some of the tools we
use to monitor performance and effect our values are Key Performance Indicators
and Housing Quality Indicators for Housing Associations. Randall and
Simmonds are committed to sustainable construction and are both
EcoHomes Advisors and Assessors. Our approach to
Innovative Construction is helping to produce
comfortable, sustainable and highly efficient housing Randall and Simmonds
are at the forefront of innovation and Consultant Members of the
