Partnering experience

The Practice recognises the importance of both Partnering and of re-thinking construction as advocated by the Egan Report. By being a member of “Best Practice in Partnering Forum” as sponsored by the Housing Corporation the Practice is in the forefront of this policy. The Practice is acting as Partnering Advisor to fifteen Housing Association Clients.

The Social Housing Section were the first to adopt the Partnering procedure outlined in Sir John Egans' report “Re-thinking Construction”.

The Practice identified the need to review other procurement procedures other than open tender where lowest price is the aim rather than value for money.

The tendering procurement route is an option but over the last few years has contributed to bankruptcies and litigation that is not beneficial to Clients.

As Partnering Advisors we:

            •      Guide the selection process

            •      Encourage the objectives of Partnering and Team building

            •      Keep records of relationships including Audit statement to ensure probity

            •      Resolve any dispute and act as mediators

            •      Continuously check to ensure Aims & Objectives as being achieved

            •      Benchmarking to ensure continuous improvement
