Renewable Technologies
There is an increasing need to address the issue of fuel poverty, particularly in
rural areas. Energy efficiency and water conservation have to be targeted to
reducing potentially high running costs for tenants and occupiers.
We recognise that close liaison and product development with a local supply chain
is the key to achieving high standards. Examples of Renewables incorporated in recent schemes:-
-
Air to Water
Heat Pumps – at Hardy Court, Crewkerne;
-
Extract Fans
with Heat Exchangers – at Jetty Marsh;
-
Ground Source
Heat Pumps – at Feltwell, Norfolk;
-
Solar Panels –
at Hannaford Close, St Columb;
-
Wind Turbines
- at Dartmouth Golf Cottages;
-
Photovoltaic's
– at Clarendon Road, Newton Abbot;
-
District
Heating / Biomass – at Cattedown, Plymouth;
Randall & Simmonds
are now working with committed clients to move beyond the current Code requirements to adopt
‘Passivhaus’ and ‘Carbonlite’ construction standards, contributing towards the building of a
strategy to achieve a zero carbon foot print. These projects currently at scheme design stage. |
